Free and Easy: The Self-Sustaining Food Garden
April 17, 2010, 10:00 am to noon.
Teacher: Cynthia Care
Grow more food, more easily, using principles from permaculture, such as building fertility with plants and readily available, free materials. We will explore methods for creating garden beds without using rototillers or pickaxes, or buying expensive lumber and topsoil. The instructor will share some simple recipes for instant gardens, and show slides of successful self-sustaining gardens. The class will construct a kid’s garden bed during the last half-hour of class.
Cynthia Care grows all the fruits and vegetables she can eat, raises chickens, ducks, and bees. In her spare time she works, plays, and also raises a family.
Cost: $25.00.
